Fitness Tips: Boxing or Kick Boxing. Which is better for weight loss?

Hi Amelia, In regards to losing weight, toning arms etc, would boxing and kickboxing achieve the same/similar results? Thanks.

Both boxing and kick boxing are great activities for losing weight and toning the arms. Generally kick boxing will have the better weight loss effect because of the added intensity of using your lower body. Kicking burns lots of calories and is fantastic to strengthening your abs!
For a more effective workout including toning the arms I would choose kick-boxing. One thing to keep in mind though is the quality of the instructor. A good quality boxing instructor is going to give you a much better workout than an average kick boxer. Best thing to do is wear your heart rate monitor to both and see which one burns more calories.
