I agree Wellness Partners,

The health benefits are just a bonus on top of the amazing flavors they give food.

I love to cook healthy meals for my family. I have been using many of the herbs and spices in your list. I knew about some of their health benefits, but now, after reading your article, I feel even better about using them.

C'mon Tom, I'm sure there's a green thumb in you somewhere! I bought a half wine barrel and planted herbs last year. Everything is still going strong except the basil. The snails got to it before I could! Apparently snails love pesto! It's ok, I got my revenge in France recently... es cargo's in garlic butter. That'll teach'em!

Hi Eat smart age smart,
Thanks for the info about ginger. I love having 1/4 lemon and slice of ginger in hot water first thing every morning. Clears the digestive system and kick starts your metabolism, not to mention kills morning breath!

Good post Amelia. I don't personally grow my own herbs and spices. However, I totally agree they are one of the healthiest ways to add some taste and diversity to a meal.

Ginger is effective for curing cold and flu. It can even help to cure severe cases of cold. You can opt for ginger juice along with aniseed for curing of cold; try to have this three to four times in a day, for effectively curing your cold.
