I have dragged myself through a difficult winter (we had 14 feet of snow here and it still freezing outside) but I was able to get though the hard slog without gaining any weight. Besides going to spinning classes and doing workouts at home, Sure, I ate a lot of soup, as Amelia suggests, but I also promised myself a four day bike trip to Virginia, from which I have just returned. It was green and warm down there and now I am set to attack the cycling season in earnest! In addition to the fmaous soup, I would also suggest drinking a lot of smoothies, particularly with frozen tropical fruit so you can pretend you are on holiday.

One time, when winter was fast approaching in the United States, I went on a vacation to Sydney and the Gold Coast. I was away for over 3 weeks.

Every day on the trip, I worked out at the hotel gym for an hour and a half. It was the best vacation ever. I miss Australia.

It works both ways, avoid the Australian winter by visiting the US!
